Social security is fundamental to the development of every nation. In Ghana, one of the problems we face within social security is unemployment. For so many years on, the youth have had to grapple with joblessness which negatively affected their wellbeing.
We have lived with the unemployment situation for quite a long while. Different governments have come and gone with no provision to mitigate this social canker. The hikes in the unemployment rate led to the establishment of Unemployed Graduate Association (UGA).
As the youth kept wallowing in despair, the leadership of the NPP government and our own Hon. Rev. John Ntim Fordjour had already thought through an initiative to equip the youth with employable skills and experience to transition them into permanent employment. The member of Parliament for Assin South, Hon. Ntim Fordjour with his majical skills in lobbying has help us secure jobs for numerous youth and adults. To mention few are; Community police assistants (CPA)=300, youth in afforestation ( Forestry employment)=650, youth in nursing=30, and lobbied for increase in NABCO trainees recruits in Assin South. The likes of which he has lobbied for are Soldiers, police, immigration officers, fire service officers , granting of admission scholarship and supporting over 300 students financially for them to gain admission to the tertiary institution which happened right in the Roman catholic Church building at Assin Darmang, Local government slots to indigents of Assin South district, issuing of mathematical sets to all last year form three students in Assin South, Providing communication network to about 10 interior communities by mounting of network masks, providing printers , scanners and generally opening a computer laboratory for about most interior communities and granting of wireless network. This affable and outstanding Member of Parliament has in one way or the other lobbied and increased the number of schools to benefit from our school feeding programme, construction of numerous classroom blocks , rehabilitation of abandoned structures , construction and furnishing of Assin Manso SHS clinic, ongoing graving and tarring of feeder roads, unprecedented free metre distribution to all indigents and household of Assin South, distribution of hair dryers, sewing machines and walking wheels to the disabled and the good people of Assin south, protocols for admission into various tertiary institution, Assisted in national service postings and the gooes . The NABCO initiative, of which I stand to speak more about because we are the beneficiaries has taken a beautiful path (through the oracles of the current political administration) to reduce graduate unemployment in Ghana. This is an achievement worth celebrating in honor of the NPP government.
Records reveal that over 11000 beneficiaries have already found their way out into permanent employment. Plans are also underway to upgrade the existing contract terms to make the remaining beneficiaries permanent with their MIPs.This gives a testament to the realities of the NABCO dream and demonstrates the clean path of permanency with Hon. Rev. Ntim Fordjour and our humble Coordinator ( Hon. Emmanuel J.K Boadi on our side. Iam with profound believe that we will not leave this peaceful and beautiful house of NABCO in a dismantle manner because of what Hon. Rev. Ntim Fordjour has whispered into my mind. I can assure you my fellow trainees and colleagues that, our Member of Parliament needs your vote again to assist to achieve your dream and the wishes you have sweat for.
Having directly tasted and felt the importance of this program ( NABCO) and drawn into several testimonial conversations amongst beneficiaries, I would like to urge my fellow trainees to vote the NPP, I mean His Excellency Nana Addo Dunkwa Akuffo Addo and his right hand man and member of Parliament for Assin South, I mean the only MP we know, Hon. Rev. John Ntim Fordjour into retention. This, I believe, will create more avenues for the scheme to fully realize its objectives and impact the lives of posterity.
I stand in full support of the NABCO dream with the NPP government and Hon. Rev. John Ntim Fordjour. Join me come December 7th as beneficiaries and Sympathizers to vote *4More4Nana2DoMore.* *4MORE4jourTODOMORE*
